Funny Happenings Of Yesterday
Yesterday everything was cracking her up. For instance after her nap we sat and snuggled on the couch and watched the Backyardigans. We were side by side. She would quickly turn and look at me. In return I would quickly turn my head towards her and smile. She would crack up. She then returned to watch the show...then quickly look at me again. I would quickly look at her and we would crack up together. We played this game for oh about 10 minutes. It never lost it's humour.
Later in the day we were eating dinner. She was done eating and I was just finishing up. She started to talk really loudly and make all sorts of loud funny noises. For the fun of it I started to take my hand and cover and uncover her mouth very quickly so her noises sounded funny. She thought that was the best. She would laugh as I did it and her laughs sounded hilarious. After I stopped she tried to do it herself. So cute! Later as I was cleaning up she tried to grab Chris' hand to make him do the trick.
I just love this stage that she is in. We have so much fun!
Yesterday at bath time I put bubbles in her bath. I haven't done that in a long time. She was fascinated by the bubbles. She would stare at them on her hand and try to eat them. By doing this she would cover her chin in bubbles. This made me crack up which in turn made her crack up. There is something very funny about a baby cracking up with bubbles on her chin! I wish I had a picture!!

I Wish We had A Dog...
I was just getting the broom to sweep up after her breakfast. She beat me to it. She is also fascinated with the broom. She tries to get the broom as I sweep and tries to eat the pile of crud. Lovely! I have become a very fast sweeper.

Title Block
I am trying to think of what I can write about and my brain just keeps going blank.
I could write about how blissfully happy I am. How I am living what I dreamed about since girlhood. How I always wanted to be a stay at home mom. How my husband works hard so I can live my dream. But that would probably be nauseating and way to sugar sweet for you.
I could talk about how Sophia has reached so many big and small landmarks all within 2 weeks. While Chris was on vacation she has managed to learn how to sit from a laying position, crawl, pull up onto furniture and drink properly from a sippy cup. I always had to help her tip her sippy cup back and hold it for her. She would get a taste of water or milk and spit it back out. Suddenly she gets it!! She holds and tilts the cup back and takes big drinks. This makes me so happy. I worried so much that Sophia was behind on all the "landmarks". I hated that I compared her to other babies. She is teaching me to relax and go with the flow. She is a laid back girl just like her daddy.
I could talk about how I have less blogging time. Usually while Sophia naps in the morning I blog. Now after ummm 10 months I am getting my act together and exercising while she naps. I put in a DVD of weights or cardio and attempt to workout. I have no more excuses. She is 10 months old and I can not blame baby weight anymore!! I have failed my purse goal. Such is life. Onward and upward!! My hilarious blog friend Jen at Daily Mish Mash who cracks me up on a daily basis is having a challenge called 'Looking Fine by 2009'. We are going to have a group challenge and help each other out to stay motivated and look fine by 2009! Check her blog out she is awesome and we share a love of Ryan Gosling and James McAvoy how can you not like her!
Yes, I have a thing for close ups. These were all taken on our road trip to Kimberley.

!! Breaking News !!
A Big day in Sophia and my world!!
Sophia decided that today would be the day that she would crawl!!
It has been a long time coming and I am just so proud of my little big girl!
***Post below written earlier in the day unaware that today was going to be THE day!
Memory Lane
This is where I should insert some pictures of her room. Except she is sleeping in there at the moment. Oh...but wait I have some old pictures of it from when she was first born. I swear this picture doesn't do the room justice. The coloring looks much better in real life.
One of my favorite parts of getting ready for having a baby was setting up the room. Shopping for her furniture and bedding was so much fun. We knew we were having a girl so I was able to go hardcore on the pink. No neutral here...all girl!! I loved looking at the bedding and all her itty bitty clothes knowing one day soon a real life baby girl would be enjoying all of my purchases!! Sophia decided to come 6 weeks early so things weren't completely ready for her arrival. My sister Gina had to pack a hospital bag for me and for Sophia. I had not even finished work yet. In fact she was born on my last day of work. No rest for me! I was so looking forward to having those six weeks to wash all her clothes, buy diapers, pack our bags and pick out her first outfit. Funny how you think things are going to be a certain way and then they are completely different! Next time I will be ready by 30 weeks and will expect the unexpected!!
Since I am being nostalgic here are some little baby Sophia pictures!
Just Born...

Soooo Close!!
She is getting so close to fully pulling herself up onto furniture. She gets half way then stops. She has managed a few times to pull all the way up then does a dramatic fall and scares me half to death. I have no photographic evidence of a full unassisted standing position just yet. It's going to happen soon I can feel it in my bones! I realize most babies have accomplished this feat as well as crawling long ago. But for Sophia and I this is a big deal. She is also so close to crawling. I always thought she wouldn't crawl. I figured she would just go directly to walking. I may be wrong, we may have a crawler on our hands soon. At nap time as she is drifting off to sleep I tell her tales of what she can do once she is crawling or walking. All the trouble she can get into. I tell her mommy will worry over every bump and bruise but is so excited for her to explore and find the Tupperware cabinet all by herself! I can't wait to put up gates and baby proof the house. All the other mommies tell me be glad she doesn't crawl. It's so much more work. I realize this but i want my baby girl to have adventures under the kitchen table and chase Lilly. It will come. For now I enjoy her little booty scoot.
Here was her motivation...
Trying to reach daddy on the computer chair. Look at those ripped shoulders, ha!....
"Mommy you should really wipe my nose...even though I will get really mad at you" - Sophia...
Do you think she is too close to the TV?? She 'booty scoots' her self all the way up close...

When Mommies Go Out!
Here is another inside joke...it involves me not being able to run in my pre-pregnancy heels and my old lady knees hence being stuck in shotgun with our taxi man JAZZY for the second time!!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY JEANNIE!!
