i have to register sophia for kindergarten on february 6th
its freakin me out
she is just too little - how can she be going to school full time in the fall?
im a little mad at canada. they started full day kindergarten last year. its not an option - every kid has to go the full day. i am not ready for that - im not sure if sophia is ready for that.
i just literally want to freeze time and not let her grow up.

as random as they get
in love with these photos.
really they deserve their own post. (but the blog bug struck tonight and its gonna be all sorts of random photos thrown in here to show you what we are up to)
sophia loves to dance and dance she does.
this particular day she dressed herself first thing in the morning full on in dance gear. she planned it out the night before. she declared "i am going to get dressed in my ballet clothes and dance my way to breakfast". so theatrical it kills me.
cutest legs.
i can not wait to paint her dresser.
did i ever mention i picked up the this dresser and two night stands at thrift stores to one day be painted and used for sophia's room? the time has come now that she has a big room. i just need to find the right color. however they have really grown on me and i kinda like them just the way they are. sophia however is very convinced they need to be pink.
this girl can't stop dressing up. some days she goes through six wardrobe changes. i have no say in what she wears (unless it is ridiculously inappropriate) then i put my foot down. other than that i have totally let it go. i love to see what she comes up with. some days her outfits are the cutest ensembles ever. other days? oh wow. they are something special. but you know what it is fun and i love to see her be creative and figure out this whole thing called fashion. i thought i would have a harder time letting go of choosing outfits on a daily basis. i kind of secretly love just saying ok sophia go get dressed please. and not have to help her. you see up until a month or two ago i would still physically dress her. she had no interest. she would be choosy some days in what she would wear but she would need my help to put on every single item. now? total and complete independence. i hope it will make her confident and have a sense of her own personal unique style. she is very proud of what she chooses and i think that is so cool. i have started to take photos of her outfits but i will save those for a separate post.
one night i came in her room to tuck her into bed and she had already laid out her clothes for the next day. its not like i have ever laid out her clothes for her. i am not that organized. i thought it was the cutest thing ever (and a totally cute outfit complete with her tiara headband and a comb)
two shoe options people.
we brought out her old crib and mattress from storage to get ready for a foster child. sophia wouldn't leave her crib mattress alone so she got to have a camp out on her bedroom floor on her crib mattress. so silly and cute. (side note we cant find the hardware for the crib - so not cool - how are we going to put it together??)
this is cutie pie. sophia's butterfly. its not real. but it looks and acts so real it has fooled many a people. we love her. she got her in the summer and is still a constant companion.
the last night sophia was in this bedroom. it made me teary. it needed to be documented.
what our house looked like the next day. lord help me.
so much work. we painfully rocked it out. chris had to re organize the storage locker, we packed away our dining table and flipped our whole house around. it was all the fun of moving without actually moving. lovely.
a sneak peak at sophia's new room. grampa bob came over before bedtime as a special treat to read to her from a new fairy tale book he bought her. the girl loves the fairytales. (by the way - i have so much more to do in her room, lots of painting and cute details to follow). all of her toys are now tucked away in the cubical we bought from ikea. love that its all hidden.
its pretty fun to have a table in the middle of your bedroom. perfect for crafternoons.
dropping off my sweetie at preschool. she is learning all about dinosaurs and is loving it!! my little girly girl is very into dinosaurs i would have never saw that one coming.
i cant resist her, i love her so.
totally random one to end on - but this is what i've been up to. getting my sweat on at the gym. it feels really good. like i'm getting my groove back in that department. and dare i say it i look forward to going. and its not because of new years resolutions or any of that. it was just so beyond time. my resolution? to go to bed earlier. i aim big.
and with that i say goodnight :)
