Memory Lane

I am going through this obsessive compulsive feeling of wanting to get rid of everything I own. I want to repaint every room and completely start over with new decor and furniture....and a bigger, newer house would really help!! Unfortunately this is not at all possible unless we win the lottery. I am grateful for what we have. This is our first house. Before this we lived in apartments and at one point a loft. So I really truly am grateful to have our own house. The problem is everything in our house is me circa 1997. I am so over it. I always have this need to rearrange rooms/furniture and change things up. Usually this will appease my need for change for a few months. I have changed things around so much I am running out of ideas. The only room I truly love is little Miss Sophia's room. I just love it. It is light and airy and perfect for my little princess. She even has a pink chandelier thanks to Auntie Sara!!

This is where I should insert some pictures of her room. Except she is sleeping in there at the moment. Oh...but wait I have some old pictures of it from when she was first born. I swear this picture doesn't do the room justice. The coloring looks much better in real life.

One of my favorite parts of getting ready for having a baby was setting up the room. Shopping for her furniture and bedding was so much fun. We knew we were having a girl so I was able to go hardcore on the pink. No neutral here...all girl!! I loved looking at the bedding and all her itty bitty clothes knowing one day soon a real life baby girl would be enjoying all of my purchases!! Sophia decided to come 6 weeks early so things weren't completely ready for her arrival. My sister Gina had to pack a hospital bag for me and for Sophia. I had not even finished work yet. In fact she was born on my last day of work. No rest for me! I was so looking forward to having those six weeks to wash all her clothes, buy diapers, pack our bags and pick out her first outfit. Funny how you think things are going to be a certain way and then they are completely different! Next time I will be ready by 30 weeks and will expect the unexpected!!

Since I am being nostalgic here are some little baby Sophia pictures!

Pretty room. I loved decorating the nursery too. Such fun! We did Disney Babies with our oldest and Care Bears with the youngest two.
